Kingswood will be an exemplary, sustainable new Sussex community for the 21st century, with affordable homes, infrastructure delivered early, new skills and jobs, and with Nature at its heart.

OUR MISSION AT KINGSWOOD

Horsham District Council is proposing to allocate land at Adversane to be a sustainable new community known as Kingswood. This land is controlled by Our Place and we are committed to making this vision the best that it can possibly be. 

Whilst Our Place appreciates the strength of feeling that developments often generate, it has long been our view that only a new community of Kingswood's scale and ambition can viably provide the critical infrastructure that this part of West Sussex genuinely needs and deserves. This is in stark contrast to the endless, unplanned and piecemeal urban sprawl that communities have become used to for far too long.

In partnership with others, we are ready to build more than 1,000 affordable homes, support the creation of approximately 2,400 jobs, provide a new secondary school and two primary schools, create community facilities and a bridge over the railway, introduce genuine measures to reduce car usage and offer true access to nature. These are not aspirations. They are the product of years of technical work with organisations including Network Rail and work which is continuing at pace.

Having already started to engage with local Councillors, Parish Councils and community groups - many of whom are open-minded about the opportunities - we are committed to working with the community throughout this process to make Kingswood the best it can possibly be.
